Have a blog and want to make money online? I am sure that will use affiliate marketing as one of the ways to earn money from your blog. In affiliate marketing, you need to find suitable affiliate marketing programs and publicize your affiliate links in order to get some good conversions. Well, in affiliate marketing, you may not always require you to have a blog or websites, as there are many other ways to promote your campaign. Still, having a blog is beneficial, specially when the product or service that you are promoting is related with the niche of your blog.

Make Money
Search engines loves blogs, as they are updated regularly to fresh content. That’s why, with some keyword optimized articles on your blog, you can easily get good positions in search engine result pages. Good search engine position means more visitors and better opportunity to promote your affiliate links. But, my friend, simply putting a link or a banner for your visitors doesn’t guarantee that you will make a sale. The location where you place your affiliate links on your blog can really make a difference on how many clicks you end up getting. And, since every click on your affiliate links means a potential sale, right placement of affiliate links is important for success in affiliate marketing.
Here my suggest is that avoid big banners and concentrate on text links. Yes, it is already proven by many experts that plain text links converts well, compared to big and attractive banner ads. As an affiliate marketer what you can do is produce some quality articles that sales. Then insert your affiliate link in the form of plain text links within that articles with suitable anchor texts. Never forget that you are promoting a product or service through that plain link and always insert it within articles related to that product or service only. This will allow interested readers to see the link as they are reading and click on it.
This kind of clicks are not blind clicks that users makes to see what is there behind that links. Instead, after reading your resourceful articles, readers will click on those links in order to check whether they will get any useful resources or products via that link. So, this increases the chances of making a sale, which is directly related with your affiliate commissions.
So, the next time you are promoting a new affiliate product or service, try placing a relevant link with proper anchor text in a great article that is well optimized for search engines and see how it works out for you. I am sure that you will get some positive results.

I do agree that text links works better than banner image.
I am using a few affiliate programs. I do receive clicks to affiliate adds, but there is no sales. They are mostly banners, but still I have clicks without sales.
@LN,
Yes, people do clicks on banner ads. But in the long run, text links converts best. That’s what I was trying to tell. Thanks for your comment.
An informative article. Is the location placement of ads on the site also important? you say that search engines love blogs but do they consider blogs on par with websites for ranking purpose?

I’m new to affiliate marketing and I recently joined one myself. I started a campaign, but I have no experience with this at the moment. So I’m basically learning from trial and error. Is there any advice that you can give me?
