A CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) is a program that can determine whether the user is a human or a computer. How it works? It is thought that computers are unable to solve the CAPTCHA. So, any user entering a correct solution is presumed to be human. CAPTCHA is trademarked by Carnegie Mellon University and widely used in different websites to prevent bots and automated programs. I am sure that you have used many of them!

I realize that it mostly comes down to personal preference, and I also notice you don’t use one at all….but if you did choose, what might you pick and why?
Dennis Edell,
Thanks for leaving your comment. Yes, use of CAPTCHA depends on personal preferences. That’s why I am using reCAPTCHA on a different blog. Why? Because, it works nicely and looks good too! Well, I am not using it on this blog, due to some design related problems.
Happy Blogging.
Thanks.
