An excellent and rather simple way to start a business or add income flow to your existing business is to start an affiliate business. An affiliate business offers an individual the opportunity to become an affiliate, or business sales partner. An affiliate is paid a certain amount of money for either a click through from the partnering web site; a fixed amount for a lead generated by an ad on the affiliate's web site; or a percentage of a purchase made by a visitor as a result of a click through created by the affiliate.

I was wondering, how do you know if you have referrals?

I just signed up Friday, and it looks like I already have 2 referrals. On my website I use a system, so getting the referals should be pretty easy, since I am targeting people in that type of group. So I'm thinking I have a referral, but i'm not sure, because it says referrals,

1 2
1 shows earnings and 2 has nothing, or is that days how many days I have been using the ad?

Because in that case, I already earned 15 dollars just for 5 page impressions, and I have to admit that isn't bad either

I am currently using the widget bucks referral code on my blog. I have had it up there for a little under a month now and have already managed to get 1 referral, which might not sound like alot but for a new blog it is pretty beneficial. Lets just hope that person makes millions :)

No affiliate program is going to work unless the blogger is willing to "work it." Widgetbucks sounds like a good program, but just like every other affiliate program, no action on the part of the blogger will probably mean failure.

In addition, a blog with a small number of visitors will have problems with any affiliate program. The bottom line is that the blogger must have a steady stream of large traffic, and they must configure the affiliate program in a way that draws attention to it.

Otherwise, you'll just be giving the affiliate program free advertising. There’s plenty of that going around.

Hello

Widgetbucks has some appeal for consumer sites and blogs, but I prefer better targeting by using a 125x125 ad grid and either selling ads or putting in affiliate programs.

Hi,
Thanks for your comments. Well, the earning from ads depends on what kind of traffic you get. But, the referral thing is completely different from the ads, where you need to target bloggers and webmasters. If you get some targeted traffic, you can easily earn some good referrals, which in return earn you some money.

I abandoned my widgetbucks. It seems that it is so difficult to earn from this. But as you said, we can refer but after referral and most have joined, then what? I remembered logging into my account and it did not count my impressions correctly.
