Want to give a new look to the tag cloud on your WordPress powered blog? What about an interesting flash movie, instead of the flat and static tag cloud? Is it possible? Yes, it is possible to do so and you can do it very easily with the help of a plugin called ‘WP-Cumulus’.

WP-Cumulus Plugin

WP-Cumulus is a plugin for WordPress blogs, that allows you to display your tags, categories or both using a Flash movie that rotates them in 3D. Just like a regular tag cloud, the tags are clickable. But, as the tags rotates on mouse over, it is more visually appealing compared to the common tag cloud.

Like any other WordPress plugins, you need to upload it to your ‘wp-content/plugins/’ directory. Then, activate it from your ‘Plugins’ page and adjust the settings of your flash-based tag cloud. The plugin adds a widget, so you can place it on your sidebar through ‘Design’->’Widgets’. To use it on a blog post, just type [WP-CUMULUS] anywhere in the content and you will see your cool tag cloud on that position, after publishing the post. And to integrate it with your blog theme, insert the following code on the position where you want to display your tag cloud: <?php wp_cumulus_insert(); ?>
