FriendFeed is now officially open for public. What is FriendFeed? FriendFeed is a unique way to discover and discuss information on the web. It aggregates information about your friend’s activity on the web and then provides them to you in the form of a feed. So, it simply helps you to stay up-to-date on the web pages, photos, videos and music that your friends and family are sharing.
The goal of FriendFeed is to make content on the web more relevant and useful for you by using your existing social network as a tool for discovering interesting information. You will get a customized feed made up of the content that your friends shared. This feed contains all type of information, from news articles to family photos to interesting links and videos. On the other hand, your friends also get their customized feeds, full of the cool stuff that you’ve shared.

How does FriendFeed service work?
FriendFeed aggregates all of your activity from the social sites you choose using a special web crawling technology. For most sites, all you need to provide FriendFeed is your username, and the FriendFeed crawler will automatically find and broadcast all of your public activity on those sites. For other sites, or for services that contain private data and require special forms of authentication, FriendFeed takes advantage of the APIs provided by those sites to collect your activity.
After crawling, FriendFeed prepares the feed and delivers it your friends. You have full control over who sees your feed. You can make your FriendFeed either public or private. Public feeds can be viewed by anyone and private feeds needs your approval for subscription requests. Similarly you can view activities of your firends that use FriendFeed service. You can view your feed in your iGoogle homepage or read it in a feed reader. FriendFeed generated feed contains all comments, likes, and thumbnails, as well as detailed Media RSS tags.
FriendFeed service presently supports Amazon.com, Blog, del.icio.us, Digg, Flickr, Furl, Gmail/Google Talk, Google Reader, Google Shared Stuff, iLike, Jaiku, Last.fm, LinkedIn, Ma.gnolia, Netflix, Pandora, Picasa Web Albums, Pownce, Reddit, SmugMug, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, Twitter, Upcoming, Vimeo, Yelp, YouTube and Zooomr. Now, FriendFeed also works with Facebook.
FriendFeed makes social networking a little more social, by automatically importing shared stuff from sites across the web. Create a FriendFeed account and use it to automatically share your stuffs from other sites.
