I think Google made the right decision. I never used it, but saw it on other sites. I found them rather distracting so I usually just gave up on watching the video and left the site.

I have run video units on a few of my sites for months now and never made a single penny off of them.

Good riddance I guess, however I am sure they will try something else in the future since they have to figure out a way to make money off of youtube.

I really dislike the Google video ads. Thanks to Google team to lift those useless ads! Hope I’ll get more text ads in my blogs…

This doesn’t have anything to do with the ads that appear on top of videos (in the “bottom third”). They’ll keep doing that.

What they’re removing is the Video Units…that was where put a little code on your site and you’d get an embedded video…only you didn’t control what video it was, Google would determine it based on the content of your site.
