Google Toolbar with new Features

The latest version of Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer (beta) has added a new feature to help users arrive at correct website. From now on, Google Toolbar will try to helps users by detecting site issues like 404 errors, DNS errors or connection failures, and providing alternatives.

This is a good news for webmasters and bloggers. Because this new Google Toolbar feature will suggest some helpful links to users, in case of some site related errors. Normally, most of the users runs away, when they see such errors! But, when they will get some suggestions on their input, they may spend some more time to find contents on your site.

How this feature will work?

When a visitor faces a site related issue like 404 errors, DNS errors or connection failures, the Google Toolbar will try to find the most helpful links and displays them as suggestions. The suggestions may include:

  • A link to the corrected URL, when a visitor tries to reach your content with an invalid URL.
  • A link to the cached version of the URL, when the user can’t access your pages for some reason.
  • A link to the homepage or HTML site map of your site or a link to a higher level folder to find out the content, that a user is really looking for.
  • A search within your site for keywords found in the user entered URL.
  • An open Google search box, when all the above fails! The Google web search can help your users to find similar content available on the web.
