A new award for bloggers! The Moblies, the first of it’s kind award program to recognize excellence in mobile blogging, will begin in December 2007. Sponsored by Utterz, the Moblies (www.moblies.org) will award 11 cash awards to outstanding mobile blog posts across a variety of categories, including best use of live video, best on-the-spot reporting, best mobile podcast and many others.

Who can apply and how?

The Mobiles will be open to every blogger and any mobile post using mobile blogging technology will be eligible for nomination. Mobile posts can comprise any combination of voice, video, pictures and text. Awards will be given for best mobile posts in a variety of different categories.

Bloggers with a nominated posting will be notified and may display a “Nominated for the Moblies” badge on their blog. An open voting period, available to everyone, will determine the finalists, and a panel of judges will select the winning posts.

Full details of the Moblies award program will be announced on December 3, 2007, when the nomination period will begin. The winners will be announced on February.
