Want to try something new? Take a look at Mycrocosm, a new web service that will enable you to share snippets of information, opinions or anything else in the form of simple statistical graphs. Sounds strange or odd, but the ordinary data in the form of graphs really looks good!

Mycrocosm is a project of the Sociable Media Group at the MIT Media Lab and it’s basic goal it to help users communicate in an alternative way. In their own words:
Mycrocosm is a web site that makes it possible for people to use statistical graphs and other visual language tools for expressive social communication. In particular it provides an alternative to purely text based micro-blogging software (such as Twitter).
In order to use Mycrocosm, you must have an OpenID account. Well, as it is an experiment, in the beginning you my find some difficulties. Still, you can try it! Once you have your own Mycrocosm profile, you can start adding data in the form of various commands. Then it will create a dataset for you that depicts the data provided by you.

Mycrocosm offers some features to collaborate with your friends. It offers a “follow” function that enables sharing of datasets between friends or followers. It also allows comments on datasets and data entry from a mobile device.
