Adding good ALT attributes to your images is an important part of search engine optimization. ALT attribute describes your image to various search engines and helps in getting good position in search engine image search results. To make your blog images SEO friendly, you can use the SEO Friendly Images plugin. It is a Wordpress plugin that automatically updates all images with proper ALT and TITLE attributes.

The SEO Friendly Images plugin options recognize two tags %title (post title) and %name (file name of your picture). By combining these two tags and additional words (photo, image etc..) you can easily create relevant alt and title tags automatically for all images on your blog. If your existing images do not have ALT and TITLE, the SEO Friendly Images plugin will add them according to the options you set. Additionally, this plugin makes your blog posts W3C/xHTML valid.
How to install SEO Friendly Images plugin?
- Download the SEO Friendly Images plugin.
- Extract and upload the plugin folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Go to the Plugins page on your Wordpress dashboard and activate the plugin.
- Use the Options page to set the ALT and TITLE options.
- That’s it! SEO Friendly Images will do the rest.
