Update your AdSense Tax Information

Google requested all US based AdSense publishers to update the AdSense account tax information. It will help in issue of tax form for 2007. Your up to date tax information will ensure that earnings won’t be withheld from you later! So, do it today before it is too late.

AdSense will issue a tax form 1099-MISC for you, if you have submitted a Form W-9, are not a corporation, and were paid at least US $600 in 2007 or if you indicated that you are subject to backup withholding and had taxes withheld.

Google AdSense also makes it clear that the earnings are reported for the payments made in 2007. So the unpaid earnings from 2007 that are rolled over to 2008 will not be included.

To update your AdSense tax information, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your AdSense account.
  2. Click the ‘My Account’ tab.
  3. Click the ‘Tax information’ link.
  4. Follow the instructions on the ‘Tax information’ page to update your current form, or to submit a new one.

  1. Just a heads up, there have been some phishing emails claiming that you need to update your adsense tax information which were a scam. So I’m happy you actually referred to actually logging into the official adsense website to do this.
