Want to do something new with your blog? Take a look at the AnyFont plugin for WordPress, which allows you to use any truetype font for post titles, menu items or anywhere else you want to use a custom font in your current WordPress theme design. This plugin automatically generates images using the desired font and changes your preferred text items with those image items. No code editing is required from your side. Text replacement options are available for post titles, page titles, widget titles, blog name and blog description.

This plugin comes with a control panel from where you can manage the fonts, styles and other options. With the help of the Font Manager, you can easily upload new fonts to WordPress and with the help of Style Management unlimited number of styles can be created. To run the AnyFont plugin your server need to have PHP4 or PHP5 with either the ImageMagick or GD image module. Image cache for the generated images and browser caching is enabled for images to reduce page load times. In advanced settings you can select the desired PHP image module and enable or disable hotlinking of images.
In my view this is plugin is useful for blogs where WordPress is used as a CMS. For example, a blog with more static pages and lesser or no dynamic pages. In that case your blog may look more like a general website than a blog. So, you can happily use the AnyFont plugin to replace those headings and menu items with nice and matching image items. In either case, you may or may not want to use this plugin. Because in typical blogs there may be lots of pages and using images instead of text titles for all those pages is not a wise decision in my view. Oh yes, you can always use it to create nice widget titles or blog name. What you say?
